Pools and School Picture

I haven't felt like I have much to blog about. The days are just flying by and we are all getting into our new routine. School is going great for both kids and I think fall weather may be just around the corner. We have had a couple of days of beautiful weather and it makes me so ready for cooler temperatures.

Last weekend, we had dinner with my sister-in-law's family. The kids had a great time. I was visiting with my SIL inside and I looked out and saw Adelaide in the pool. Apparently this is what happens when daddy is in charge outside...naked in a cold pool. Having a blast of course! Ha!

Aedan had school pictures taken last week. The hard copies aren't in yet (they are coming soon, so be on the lookout great-grandparents and grandparents), but I also ordered a digital copy which came today.

We are headed to a picnic dinner in the park to bring on the weekend, should be a great one!

Ready for the Weekend!

Second week of kindergarten is over. We I survived. Aedan is doing really well. He is still a little clingy at drop off, but he is getting more comfortable. He loves his teacher and is making lots of new friends. They get stickers everyday for appropriate behavior and he has gotten a sticker everyday. He has also earned lots of "cat cash" dollars for extra good behavior. Last week, this was the note his teacher left.

He has told me a few times that school is too long and takes away all his play time. :( I think so too! We are ready for a laid back 3-day weekend around here.










Adelaide got to start school this week! She was so excited, until I dropped her off. Then she screamed. I was surprised. This is her second year at preschool and she rarely cried last year at drop off. I think it just different this year, without Aedan there also. She snapped out of it about 2 minutes after I left and had a great time both days.

Now that we get up at the crack of dawn, Aedan has started taking pictures of the sunrise. He loves taking pictures with my phone and taking pictures of sunsets are his favorite. Now sunrises are becoming a favorite. He took these one morning from our back porch.

Off to Kindergarten and More

Aedan had his first day of school on Monday!

It was rough getting up so early! We are all tired this week!

He has had a great first week. He is making new friends and likes his teacher. He has even done really well with the long days. Me on the other-hand? I miss him so much. I knew it would be hard but the first 3 days were really hard. Since then each day is getting better. I don't like change, and this is a big change! I know we I will get into a new routine and adjust. 

This one doesn't start school until next week so she has been enjoying lots of 1:1 playtime and errand running. She loves to be on the go!

Adelaide did have her first dance class this week. I knew she was ready for some type of little class and most things like gymnastics and sports don't start until 3 years old. So we are trying dance this Fall. How adorable is she?

The class was so cute and the teacher is so good with them. I think she had a lot of fun!

That's a Wrap

Today is the last day of our 12 weeks of summer. I'm not sure how it went by so fast, but it did!

We've had a great last few weeks. Lots of hanging out at home, swimming and playing at the parks with friends and just enjoying our time together.

We had parent orientation earlier this week and Aedan had meet the teacher last night. We picked up our school supply packet and I guess everything is ready for Monday morning (except for me!) :)

Adelaide has her meet the teacher next week, and we got teacher calls yesterday. She is going to have the same teacher Aedan had when he was in the 2 year old class. We love her and I am so excited for Adelaide. I know she will have a blast this year!

Adelaide is also starting a dance class this fall. We were able to borrow some dance stuff from a couple of friends so we tried it all on. She was a big fan of the tap shoes. We will see how her first class goes next week!

Lots of dressing up and play fighting happens around here...

Costco has their Halloween costumes out already...

Adelaide got her first hair cut last week. It was time to even out the ends so she got about 2 inches trimmed off. It looks so cute now.

We are really going to miss our lazy mornings around here. At least we will have the weekends. Jon and I have been enjoying sleeping in on Saturday mornings. The kids get up and get settled in the living room giving us and extra hour to snooze. :)

Bring on the last weekend before school starts. Monday morning we will be up bright and early!

40th Anniversary Party

A couple of weekend ago, we went up to Plano to help my parents celebrate their 40th anniversary!

We had such a fun weekend hanging out with my parents and my sister. The kids had a blast and I think this was the first time they both woke up, and headed downstairs to my parents before waking up either of us up. :)

I didn't take very many pictures of us hanging out, but there was lots of playing outside, walking to the park, feeding the ducks at the pond and big meals all together. It was really nice.

My sister and I helped throw a party for my parents at a local restaurant. It was a lot of fun. Here are a few pictures my mom put together from the party.

Life Lately

We've had a busy past few weeks. Well, we have had a busy summer in general. Hard to believe it will be over in 4 short weeks!

My parents have been in town for the past few weeks at their house in Round Rock. It is still about a 45 minute drive from us, but we got to see them quit a few times which was great!

One night, we had dinner at my grandmother's place and the kids got to go swimming in the indoor pool. They loved it!

Aedan loves rocks/crystals. I think he spent just about every single recess collecting "crystals" from the playground this past school year. We were at an appointment in down town and stopped by a rock store on our way home. He was in heaven. We bought a few cool ones for him to play with. He got to crack them open with a hammer.

My mom and I went to Houston last weekend to help my sister move into her new apartment. Jon stayed with the kids and they had a blast. Aedan stayed up pretty late and loved it!

This past Friday, we headed down to New Braunfels to check out a new children's museum. It was so much fun! The kids had a blast. We were there for a good 4 hours before anyone wanted to leave. 

On Saturday, Jon and Aedan went to the lake with some friends. I think they had a really good time. 

While they were at the lake, Adelaide and I headed up to see my parents again before they head back to Dallas. We got to have dinner with both my grandmothers and my aunt. It was nice to visit with everyone and I know Adelaide had fun playing with all my mom's toys alone. :)

One afternoon, Aedan brought me this tissue paper flower he made for Mother's Day. He said he wanted to take a picture with me because he loved me so much. I mean, can he just stay this age forever!

For the 4th of July, we went down to a little fair type thing. The kids had fun feeding goats and petting horses.
