Mother’s Day & More
I never posted more about Mother’s Day.
The weekend before Mother’s day, my parents came down and we had a family get together at our house. My grandmothers and aunt came as well. The weather was gorgeous and we were able to eat dinner outside on our new patio. We had just bought a table for under the pergola, which I have yet to take picture of because it has rained just about every day since then! Hopefully pictures soon! We had such a nice time visiting with everyone the night.
The kids made me some really cute stuff at school for Mother’s day. I have it all hanging on my pantry door and I may just leave it up there for a few months. It is so fun to look at!
Hiro turned 8 this month. We brought him home in July, at two months old. We had gone for a long weekend down to Galveston, with my parents. On our way back, just outside of Bastrop, we pasted a couple on the side of the road selling puppies. Jon asked if I wanted to turn around a go look. I said sure and we ended up coming home with this little guy.
We actually almost got his brother. His brother was super playful and jumping all around. We had taken him out of the pin and were playing with him which we decided if we were going to buy one or not. Then I walked back over to the pin and picked up Hiro. His eyes were so cute. I just fell in love with him and never put him back down. He has turned out to be the best dog either of us has ever had. I told Jon that I just know the next dog we get will be or Marley! We love him so much!
We have been having to play inside a lot lately. I can’t believe the amount of rain we have been getting! It is good and needed, but we are ready for the pool! The kids have been dressing up together and I snapped this picture the other afternoon. I just love how Adelaide is looking at Aedan. She loves him so much!
Potty training has been going pretty well. Adelaide went to school both days last week in undies and was accident free. I have taken her to the gym and running errands and she has done great too. She seems to have more accidents at home and especially in the afternoon. But it is getting better each day.
*I wrote this post last Thursday and I think we much have had a break through because Adelaide has been accident free since Friday. I think we can officially say she is potty trained. It was a rough start, but at just under 2 weeks later she is good to go so I’ll take that as a win.
Adelaide has been playing a lot with our Duplo Legos. She build some fun towers and houses. Everything Aedan builds is perfectly symmetrical so when he saw this he said, “um wow Adelaide, that is really nice. Do you want me to fix it for you?” Ha!
By the time this post is published, Aedan’s preschool graduation will be the next day. I am sure I will be a mess. Not so much that he is going off to kinder, but more because he is leaving his preschool. It’s a good thing Adelaide still has 3 years there, because we just love everything about it. I’m sure I will post some first day of school/last day of school pictures later this week, but here is Aedan on his first day or preschool 3 years ago. Please pass me the tissue box!

A Little of This and a Little of That
I think I forgot to post pictures from a butterfly festival we went to about a month ago. Aedan’s class got to watch all the stages of a caterpillar grow into a butterfly and then they got to let their butterflies go at the festival. The kids had a lot of fun!
We switched Adelaide to her big girl bed about a month ago. So far she has been doing really well. She only comes out if she gets scared by thunder (“nunder”). I found a picture of Aedan taking a nap in his big boy bed for the first time. They look so similar to me.
We have been growing our collection of games. It is the perfect way to spend a rainy afternoon (which we have been having a lot of lately).
Adelaide loves to play with her baby dolls. I took this sweet picture the other day.
We are still in the mist of potty training. Sometimes I think we are making good progress and then other times I am ready to throw in the towel. I guess it is a two steps forward, one step back situation for us. Right now her favorite thing to wear in a Minnie Mouse pull-up (better know as a “min mouse poo-up”), as we are no where near leaving the house in undies. Hoping we make some good progress soon!

Muffins for Moms
Yesterday was Muffins for Moms at the kids’ school. It was such a fun morning!
Such a big difference from last years Muffins for Moms! Apparently, I like to wear purple to this event. Ha!
After the school party, Aedan’s class had a special little party for all the moms. It was so cute!
Such a special morning with my two favorite kids!
Oh and just so you know, our days are not all sunshine and roses, this is the text I sent Jon about 5 minutes before we had to leave for school yesterday morning.
Fun times over here, let me tell you! We are potty training this weekend. I thought I could hold her off until after our vacation, but I’m done. White flag thrown. She insists on taking off her own diaper, wiping herself and then trying to put on a new diaper about a thousand times a day. She is more than ready.

School Pictures
I finally got around to ordered the kids school pictures. The photographer the school uses always gets the kids to smile so well. I wish I could show a class picture, because I am amazed that they can get a class of two year olds to not only all be looking at the camera, but also be smiling at the camera. I can’t even get my two to do that!
Here are their pictures this year…
And this…how is he already almost done with preschool. I am going to be a mess at their preschool graduation in a few weeks!

Weekend Visitors
This past weekend, my sister and her boyfriend, Taylor came for a visit. Taylor did the Shiner bike on Friday (98 miles!!) so they made a long weekend trip out of it.
Friday they went out an did some kayaking on Town Lake. Then that night we took them to a new outdoor restaurant near us. It was really fun!
On Saturday, Taylor had his bike ride, so Kymberly hung out with us for the day. We did a lot of playing and then during nap time, she and I went out for pedicures.
Sunday we did more hanging out before they had to head back to Houston.
We had a lot of fun hanging out with them! The kids were pretty sad to see them go on Sunday!
We want them to come back soon!!
