Life Lately

We've had a busy past few weeks. Well, we have had a busy summer in general. Hard to believe it will be over in 4 short weeks!

My parents have been in town for the past few weeks at their house in Round Rock. It is still about a 45 minute drive from us, but we got to see them quit a few times which was great!

One night, we had dinner at my grandmother's place and the kids got to go swimming in the indoor pool. They loved it!

Aedan loves rocks/crystals. I think he spent just about every single recess collecting "crystals" from the playground this past school year. We were at an appointment in down town and stopped by a rock store on our way home. He was in heaven. We bought a few cool ones for him to play with. He got to crack them open with a hammer.

My mom and I went to Houston last weekend to help my sister move into her new apartment. Jon stayed with the kids and they had a blast. Aedan stayed up pretty late and loved it!

This past Friday, we headed down to New Braunfels to check out a new children's museum. It was so much fun! The kids had a blast. We were there for a good 4 hours before anyone wanted to leave.

On Saturday, Jon and Aedan went to the lake with some friends. I think they had a really good time.

While they were at the lake, Adelaide and I headed up to see my parents again before they head back to Dallas. We got to have dinner with both my grandmothers and my aunt. It was nice to visit with everyone and I know Adelaide had fun playing with all my mom's toys alone. :)

Phone Pictures

Just a few pictures of life lately...

There is a newer trailer park restaurant near us. Such a fun place to eat and play.

Swinging outside with light sabers

One afternoon, Aedan brought me this tissue paper flower he made for Mother's Day. He said he wanted to take a picture with me because he loved me so much. I mean, can he just stay this age forever!

For the 4th of July, we went down to a little fair type thing. The kids had fun feeding goats and petting horses.

Greenbelt Hiking

A couple of weekend ago, we went to the Greenbelt. We have had so much rain lately, so the water was beautiful. It was so clear you could see the bottom everywhere. Everyone had a lot of fun!

It's hard to believe all this was completely dry a few summers ago. It got deep enough for us all to swim, and even too deep for Jon or I to touch in some places.

We took this picture, to recreate one we took a good 8 years ago...

It is definitely Hiro's happy place!

VBS and Swimming Lessons!

So I shattered my phone screen in the gym parking lot. Shattered to the point where when I unlocked it to call Jon and tell him, I cut my finger on the glass. Sigh. Luckily it is insured, you know for when the kids drop it or something. :) I got a new one a few days later, but I hadn't set it up to sync my pictures with our computer. Its all synced now, so back to blogging!

We have had a busy summer so far!

The Monday after coming home from vacation, Aedan started VBS. This was his second time to participate and I know he had a great time.

On the last day, the church (where the kids also go to school), had a little dinner and party for all the families. All the VBS kids got up on stage and sang a few songs from the week. They called the kids up by ages, so the bigger kids were in the back. When they called Aedan's group, he got up and headed to the stage. Adelaide immediately hopped off Jon's lap and headed up with him. She ended up staying up there for most of the songs and just acted like she belonged. Ha!

The week after VBS, we did a week of swimming lessons. Aedan did great. This his his third summer and he is swimming really well. He can swim all around the pool on his own and swim down to the bottom of the deep end. He started working more on his strokes this summer.

This was Adelaide's first summer. She cried the whole lesson for days 1-3. Fun times, let me tell you. Day 4, was some crying mixed with a few smiles. Day 5, she was all smiles and asking for her turn.

It's hard to believe we are about half way through the summer all ready!
