Quick Advice

I need some advice…Jon and I are invited to a wedding next November in Mexico. We will have a 7 and 1/2 month old…will I be okay with leaving him/her with grandparents? I am just feeling like I won’t want to leave a baby that young, even for a few days. Not to mention the fact that I am sure I will not be ready for a beach vacation that includes lots of people I know and bathing suits! My gut is telling me that they should count us out, but I thought I would throw it out there…what do y’all think?

I first left Jackson when he was 4 months old, and then again at 7 months. Both times for 4 days. He was with Steven/grandparents and it was fine. I missed him like crazy, but it was nice to have a short break from being a mommy.

If your gut says "no thanks" then you should go with that, but you may want to wait until you have a better idea of how your child will react. Is he or she taking a bottle? Sleeping through the night? Starting to develop separation anxiety? Is there a reliable schedule you can leave for the grandparents? These are some questions we asked ourselves before I left him overnight.

Having said that, Jackson's never spent the night away from both of us at once.

I hope this helps! :)

You will be fine! In fact it will be a nice time for you and the hubby to be alone together after the baby! This is a great thing! :)

I don't think it is a terrible idea. We left Brycen for the first time without both of us at 9 months... it was hard, but it was a nice get-a-way too... go with your gut though.
