We had such a great Christmas!
We have had lots of time to lay around and enjoy our time off and spend time with family.
My birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I had a week of celebrations!
My parents had us over for dinner and dessert. It was delicious! They also got me a new mixer! I had my grandmother’s old one but the motor was wearing down. I love the color of the new one!
Adelaide and I put it to use right away and made sugar cookies!
Now that I have shared our Christmas cards, I can finally share some of our family pictures.
It is never fun getting everyone ready in clothes they don’t love, getting out the door, and hoping for cooperative kids with natural smiles. But we love having these pictures to look back on every year.
I think they turned out great!
I love sending and receiving Christmas cards. I have shared our Christmas cards on my blog for the past 7 (!) years!
Here is year 8!
December is here and I never got around to blogging about October/November!
Early October, my friend and I made these cute fall/winter wooden decorations. They turned out so cute and I love seeing it on my front porch everyday!
We started the week before Thanksgiving with lunch at both kids’ schools.
Lunch with Aedan…
This popped up on my Facebook memory feed. It’s from Aedan’s first Thanksgiving lunch at preschool, 4 years ago!
Lunch with Adelaide…
We picked Aedan up from school a little early the Friday before Thanksgiving, and headed up to East Texas to visit Jon’s parents. They live on a farm and the kids had a blast. Two of Jon’s sisters also came, so all the cousins got to play.
I can’t believe the first month of summer is just about over! We have been busy and having lots of fun!
My parents sold there house in Plano at the beginning of June. They are officially living in the Austin area and we are excited to have them closer. My sister and I had this painting done of their old house. It turned out so well. My parents loved it. It’s from the Etsy store KeyesCreative. She was a pleasure to work with and her work is beautiful!
I volunteered at VBS a couple of weeks ago. Adelaide was able to go since I was a volunteer and we all had so much fun!
Adelaide has been very into dressing up lately. We got some princess dress up clothes from a friends and she LOVES them!
Raylan has been doing great! He is just over 3 months now and is about 20 lbs. He uses the doggie door and we have been accident free for a while now. Yay! Hiro has warmed up to him and doesn’t find him as annoying anymore. They play together a lot which is fun to watch.
Waiting for his best buddies to get done with rest time.
Adelaide managed to get them both locked in the crate together. She was so happy and said they both wanted to stay inside all day. It lasted about 5 minutes and then Raylan started nibbling her and she changed her mind. Ha!
These two have been getting along pretty well this summer. It is so different this summer since we really don’t have a nap time to worry about. We have been on the go much more than we have past summers.
Adelaide loves to push her own cart around HEB. She loves running errands.
We had lunch with my mom and sister at the Oasis last week. The weather was great and the lake looked so beautiful!

Adelaide finished up school the week before Memorial Day. She had such a great year. She was in the older 2s class and had the same teacher as Aedan had when he was in the 2s class. We love her and the preschool!
Aedan finished up this past week. Unfortunately he was sick on the last day of school so we took at pretend picture.
Luckily he had his class party a couple of days before the last day of school. He got and award for being a great listener and an award for music.
His teacher this year was wonderful! She took each student’s picture and printed it next to some questions she asked them about the year. It was so cute.
We’ve got some fun stuff planned for this summer and I know it is going to go by fast!

We have been busy!
At the beginning of last week, Hiro got sick. After throwing up for most of the day on a Sunday, we took him to the vet Monday morning. Looks like he had a stomach ulcer. He wasn’t eating or drinking much of anything for the entire week. I was so worried about him. But by that Friday, he was back to himself, just in time for us to bring our newest addition home!
Adelaide is transitioning out of taking a nap. She still takes one a few times a week and if she goes two days in a row without a nap, this is what I usually find in the late afternoon. Ha!
I can’t remember if I ever blogged about it, but we decided to get a new puppy! We set up his crate one evening and this is what we found a few minutes later. She made herself right at home.
Last week, I got to go on a field trip with Aedan’s class. We went to a Children’s museum and had so much fun!
While Aedan and I were there, Jon and Adelaide had a day of fun too…
This past Sunday, we brought home our new little guy…Raylan. We had been talking about getting another puppy but not necessarily this soon. One afternoon a few weeks ago, I saw a post on our city Facebook page about golden doodle puppies. I showed Jon expecting him to say no. Obviously he didn’t and here we are! He is super cute!
To say Adelaide loves him may be an understatement. She refers to him as “her” puppy. Both kids adore him and have been really helpful with taking care of him.
Hiro has been a good sport but is kind of wondering what we were thinking!
Adelaide has her last day of preschool tomorrow and Aedan has his last day next Thursday. Summer is almost here and we are so ready!!
